About Learning Design Co.
Learning is personal. So is how we teach it.
Learning Design Co. exists because we believe that a real human being designing specifically for your child will always outperform any generic program, resource, or one-size-fits-all tutoring service. We bring the discipline of professional learning design: the kind used by schools, universities, and organisations, to individual students who deserve that same level of care.

Founder & Lead Learning Designer
Cindy Huang
I started as a private tutor, one student, one hour at a time. What I discovered quickly was that the subject knowledge mattered far less than I expected. What actually moved the needle was the relationship: whether a student felt safe enough to say they didn't understand, whether they trusted me enough to try something hard, whether they believed I was genuinely on their side. That insight - that relationship is the foundation, not a nice-to-have - is what Learning Design Co. is built on.
My background spans tutoring, curriculum writing, educational publishing, and community education, which means I bring a depth of understanding to every session that goes well beyond subject knowledge. I know how learning materials are designed, how assessments are structured, and what the curriculum actually demands of students at every level.
I currently work as the Education Coordinator at Victoria Law Foundation, making legal education accessible to students and the public. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Sociology from the University of Melbourne, and a Certificate in Public Policy Analysis and a Certificate in Strategic Communications from the London School of Economics. I'm a member of the Curriculum Writers' Association Australia, and I've worked as a mathematics consultant and content designer for organisations including Essential Assessment, Cengage, Edrolo, ClickView, Education Perfect and Forest Learning.
Across more than 4000 hours of one-on-one tutoring with 200+ students, I've maintained a 5/5 rating, not because I teach to the test, but because I take the time to understand each student's gaps, their learning style, and what actually motivates them to engage.
"The best tutors don't just know their subject. They know how to make someone else understand it."
What makes us different
Four insights we don’t think get talked about enough
Every brain works differently, and an AI online learning platform will never be as good as a real human designing specifically for you.
Learning designers work with schools, universities, and organisations to build curricula that actually work. We bring that same discipline to individual students. No matter how much differentiated learning a school offers, no classroom can fully account for how one specific student thinks, what gaps they carry, or what motivates them to engage. A real person designing specifically for your child will always outperform any resource, app, or one-size-fits-all program.
The tutor-student-parent relationship matter as much as subject expertise, if not more.
A student who has had a bad teacher often walks away believing they're simply not good at that subject. That belief is almost never true, but it's very hard to undo. We know from experience that the relationship between a student and their tutor is the single biggest factor in whether learning actually sticks. Subject knowledge matters, but it's not enough on its own. We invest in the relationship first, and the results follow.
In a crowded industry, trust is the most important asset we can offer.
The tutoring industry is growing fast — and anyone can call themselves a tutor. For parents who are already stretched thin, finding someone genuinely trustworthy for something as high-stakes as their child's education is genuinely hard. We understand that. Everything we do, from the free first consultation to the way we communicate with parents, is designed to earn and keep your trust. We don't take that lightly.
It is pivitol that we hold the whole picture, not just the academic side.
Parents are busy, and they care about more than just grades. They worry about whether their child is okay, whether they believe in themselves, and whether school feels like a place they belong. We hold all of that. We communicate regularly, share honest progress updates, and think about the student's overall wellbeing, not just their next assessment.
